Don Nelson is a freelance sound engineer with over a decade and a half of experience in the industry; covering production mixing, post editorial and studio. He works emphatically on every project to create a robust understanding of the needs of his collaborators, whilst responding to challenges in each shooting environment. Whether documentaries, adverts, TV or VR films, his expertise stand out as much as his dedication to building effective working relationships with cast and crew.Don frequently brushes shoulders with established production companies working on groundbreaking films from the BAFTA winning ‘Amy’ with Dir. Asif Kapadia, to documentary Uprising with Steve McQueen/James Rogan. Broadcasters include Netflix, BBC, National Geographic, Channel 4, Amazon, and Sky.
Don has worked with such a range of contributors representing the livelihoods of indigenous communities, minority groups, social entrepreneurs, dancers, musicians, comedians, ideological extremists, and the one per cent. On occasion you can find him delivering workshops at LCC.
